Résumé

L’auteur s’est intéressé au vocabulaire freudien décrivant le redressement postural de notre ancêtre animal. Cette lecture permet de repérer un double point de vue chez Freud. D’une part, Freud reste fidèle à l’héritage d’une pensée savante et philosophique vieille de plus de deux millénaires qui arrache l’Homme vertical à la terre et à son passé animal pour le rapprocher des cieux. D’autre part, avec l’usage du Aufchritung (verticalisation), Freud tranche radicalement avec les lieux communs de la culture car il permet à l’espèce qui se relève de garder le contact avec le lieu d’origine (le sol ou la terre) tout en s’humanisant (donner courage, réconforter, autre traduction possible du verbe Aufrichten). Cette approche est articulée à la notion philosophique, riche et complexe, de sublimation. La figure de l’enfant sauvage est convoquée pour interroger cette frontière entre l’Homme et l’animal, à partir de la notion freudienne de l’identification primaire.

Abstract

The author was interested in the Freudian vocabulary describing the straightening up of our animal ancestor. This reading demonstrates Freud’s two points of views. On one hand, Freud remains loyal to the legacy of a scholarly and philosophical thought older than two millenniums which tears away the vertical man from the earth as well as from his past to bring him closer to the heavens. On the other hand, with the usage of Aufchritung, (verticalisation-verticality), Freud makes a radical break with the common places of the culture by allowing the species which rises back up to keep in touch with the place of origin (the ground or the earth), while becoming human (to give courage, to console, the other possible translation of the verb Aufrichten). This approach is articulated in the rich and complex philosophical thought of sublimation. The figure of the wild child is summoned to question the border between the Man and the animal, in relation with the primary identification.
