Quand le corps « craque ». Sur le crack à la Cracolândia au centre de Sâo Paulo

Résumé

L’usage du crack est au centre de la scène sociale contemporaine brésilienne, faisant symptôme de l’actuel malaise de la culture. Notre article propose une analyse de la scène ouverte² de consommation de crack dans la Cracolândia lieu radical de pauvreté urbaine. Le poids d’un contexte où sont bafoués les droits de l’homme pèse sur les possibilités psychiques de symbolisation, la parole est en retrait et le corps mis en avant. La rencontre avec le crack devient ainsi un mauvais hasard, le corps craque dans une abjection. Dans ce contexte, la toxicomanie apparaît comme une tentative d’inscription et de cristallisation d’une forme de lien social que l’usager tente de fabriquer. Ainsi, à partir d’une lecture psychanalytique et anthropologique du phénomène, au travers d’un cas clinique, l’article analyse la relation entre : l’objet toxique crack, le Sujet dans son rapport à l’Autre³. La violence multiforme de la ville et les pratiques sociales de l’usage de la drogue, donnent naissance à des nouvelles formes de territorialité et d’altérité.

Abstract

The use of crack is a major issue of the Brazilian contemporary society, whose symptom is the current weakness of the culture. Our article provides an analysis of the “open situation” [1] of crack consumption in the “Cracolândia”, a radical place of urban poverty. The weight of a context where human rights are denied affects the psychic possibilities of symbolization, the word is in the background while the body is emphasized. Such a meeting with the crack becomes a kind of “bad luck”, the body “cracks” in an abjection. In this context, drug addiction appears to be an attempt of inscription and crystallization of a form of social link that the user tries to build up. Thus, thanks to a psychoanalytic and anthropological interpretation of the phenomenon and through the study of a clinical case, the article analyzes the relationship between : the crack as a toxic object, the Subject in his relation with the Other. The multiform violence of the city and the social practices of drug use produce new forms of territoriality and otherness.
