Schreber, traducteur de réel. Propos bref sur la traduction des Mémoires

Résumé

La psychose enseigne que la traduction ne se réduit pas au passage d’une langue à une autre. Le travail analytique, qui ouvre au discours de l’analysant la perspective d’une lecture autre, rencontre aussi cette dimension. Toutefois cette opération comporte un reste qui met l’acte de traduire au contact du réel. À partir des Mémoires, écrits en allemand, du président Schreber, certains aspects de cet impossible à traduire seront repérés dans le savoir qu’ils apportent à la pratique de la psychanalyse.

Abstract

Psychosis teaches that translation is not simply a crossing from one language to another one. Opening for the discourse of the analysing subject the way of another type of reading, the analytical work meets also this dimension. However, this operation includes some rest that puts the action of translating in contact with the Real. Starting with President Schreber’s “Memoranda”, which are written in German, several aspects of the impossibility to translate will be marked in relation with the knowledge they provide for the practise of psychoanalysis.
